After we decided back in March to offer Vectera for free during the Covid-19 period, it was time to launch our new subscription plans! Vectera Pro and a freemium version saw the light of day. You can find more information here.
Besides the new plans, there were of course other updates regarding the dashboard and meeting rooms. Keep on reading to find out more.
Dashboard: upcoming appointments
Drowning in a huge amount of planned appointments? Your first 5 upcoming appointments are now visible on your Vectera dashboard!
The listed appointments contain information about the appointment type, the date and time of the meeting and with whom youâre meeting.
Scheduling: detect the first day of the week
When does your week start? Based on the browser language, either Monday or Sunday will be displayed as the first day of your week.
E.g. If your language is set in EN - US, Sunday should (and now will) be your first day of the week.
Meeting rooms: blurred background, updated PictureInPicture mode and waiting screen
Seeing blurry, even with your glasses on!
No, thereâs nothing wrong with your eyes. Itâs simply the possibility to blur your background in the Vectera meeting rooms thatâs finally here! Google Chrome and the new Edge browser are the places to be for this feature.
No more personal details from your home office visible on your camera. Just you and your privacy! The GIF below gives you an idea on how it looks, but if you want to activate the new feature yourself you can read this help article.
PictureInPicture mode
Until now, it was only possible to pin one camera to your screen while you were browsing in another tab. Now you can pin multiple videos to your screen so you can still see all your guests, if you want so of course.
Just hover over another participantâs camera in Vectera meeting room, click on the pin icon in the right top corner and enjoy your view.
Updates on the waiting screen
- No more audio and video surprises with Vectera: When youâre about to enter the meeting room, from now on your devices will be automatically tested. You get to know if they work like they should before actually starting your meeting. No more unwelcome surprises here!
Your camera will be activated in the waiting screen and itâs possible to test your microphone and speaker before you actually enter. If necessary, you have the possibility to switch devices.
- Snooze knocking people on mobile: When youâre hosting Vectera meetings on your mobile device, the size of your screen is rather limited. When another person who wants to join the room is knocking to enter, even more space on your screen is occupied. To save some space, you can now snooze knocking people by clicking on the âXâ. At the left top corner of your screen you can find whoâs still waiting to enter.
- Rejoin automatically after a disconnection: If your guest leaves a locked meeting room by closing the tab or pressing the âLeaveâ button, he/sheâll have to knock again to rejoin. If a disconnection caused leaving the room, knocking wonât be required if your guest rejoins within 2 minutes.
- Disable login on the waiting screen (white label): If your Vectera subscription contains the white label add on, your guest wonât see the message âAlready have an account? Login hereâ anymore. This way, nothing in the meeting rooms will refer to us and the emphasis remains on your own organisation!
Lastly, we would like to highlight that we look forward to your feedback. Our main goal still is to improve your experience with creating online meeting rooms. Eager to get going? Log into your account or get started with a free, fully featured trial of Vectera.
